Inland Bank and Trust recently changed online banking vendors, and with some help from Murphy & Company, their deployment strategy was “out of this world.”

Customer Overview & Introduction

It’s important for financial institutions to connect with their clientele, especially when the FI is changing their digital banking vendor. Inland Bank & Trust from Oak Brook, Illinois needed help providing clients with a smooth transition to a new digital banking experience. They wanted to further engage with their clientele, offer outstanding customer support and leverage digital banking as a tool to drive new business with improved digital banking resources.


Murphy & Company’s Engagement

Murphy & Company assisted Inland Bank with these changes by providing them with user guides and videos to help successfully drive their new digital banking offerings. Murphy & Company is a FinTech focused marketing firm and helps financial institutions educate end users and promote their digital banking systems. They create customizable videos and user guides to fit a financial institution’s unique needs and have shared their FinTech knowledge and marketing strategies with hundreds of financial institutions.


Inland Bank requested Murphy & Company’s Conversion video series to help promote their system changes. The videos discuss important topics and tips for users to have in mind when connecting to the new system. The first video in the conversion series features a rocket ship animation.


Creativity – The Rocket Ship

Inland Bank wanted to add a fun twist to their digital banking upgrade, so they used the rocket ship as their inspiration and incorporated a space theme into their conversion marketing. Prior to conversion, their website home page featured a space theme supported by the phrase “Better Online Banking Launches August 26th.”

After conversion, the graphic and text were updated the theme of “Better Online Banking Has Landed.” The action button then directs users to a login button and where to go with questions. Inland Bank Marketing Director David Horkey said, “The videos were used throughout the Conversion as social media posts and eBlasts on specific topics to segmented customers. The videos worked excellently to illustrate the importance of each communication.”


Product Deployment – Digital Banking Landing Page

Their conversion landing page follows the same theme and is full of helpful user guides and educational videos also created by Murphy & Company.

Inland’s team even carried the space theme into their branch sales materials, weekly email campaigns and the Bank’s intranet showcasing their bank executives in space suits. David Horkey said, “It was critical that all communications look and felt like they are coming from the same Bank. When we saw the initial video creative for the conversion, it only seemed natural to build communications and sales tools that made everything cohesive.”


Conclusion

Digital banking is key in driving success for banks and credit unions today. This powerful tool influences front line staff, outbound calling officers, tellers, consumer care groups and more. Your user guides and videos can be equally as powerful as your digital banking system when properly developed and deployed.
